Georgetown University — Adjunct Faculty & Doctoral Candidate, ABD

I have taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses at Georgetown's Department of Liberal Studies since 2022, designing curriculum from the ground up, syllabi, learning outcomes, assessment plans, and rubrics. Courses focus on entrepreneurship and public speaking, with an emphasis on applied practice and structured feedback. Before each course, students have no framework. By the end, they can build one.

The doctoral work runs alongside the teaching. My dissertation, Syrian Refugee Women Heading Households in Jordan: Testimony, Translation, and Decision in Humanitarian Assistance and Protection, examines how women's verbal accounts move through UNHCR registration, legal aid, and NGO protection systems, and what gets lost between what women say and what institutions record. Coursework is complete. Qualifying Exam passed. Proposal defended. Expected December 2026.

Both teaching and research sit within the same question: what does it take to build systems that actually respond to the people they're supposed to serve?
